Benjamin Owusu
Data Scientist, Afrifanom

Benjamin Owusu has built a career rooted in data-driven decision-making and innovation. A graduate of our GIZ 2 cohort, Benjamin currently works as a data scientist at Afrifanom, where he applies his expertise to solve complex problems and drive business growth.

His professional journey spans multiple industries, showcasing his versatility and determination. Before stepping into data science, Benjamin gained valuable experience as an operations analyst consultant at GMB Engineering, where he optimized business processes and streamlined operations. He later transitioned into a leadership role as a business manager at Cytech360, where he honed his strategic and managerial skills.

Recognizing the power of data in shaping industries, Benjamin joined mPharma as a data analyst, where he developed strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. His role involved leveraging data to improve healthcare operations, enhance patient experiences, and drive efficiency—an experience that solidified his passion for using data to make an impact.

Aisha Badmus
Business strategist, STEMAIDE Africa

Aisha Badmus, from the PJM2 cohort, is making waves in the tech and innovation space. As a business strategist for STEMAIDE Africa and a community manager at Imfest, she plays a vital role in shaping tech communities while managing impactful events that foster innovation and collaboration.

Passionate about empowering young girls and women in tech, Aisha has dedicated her career to creating opportunities for underrepresented groups in the industry. Her efforts have not gone unnoticed—in November 2024, she was honored with an Award of Excellence in Technology by the Young Africa Leaders Forum. Earlier in May, she received recognition for Youth in Innovation, celebrating her contributions to the tech ecosystem.

Beyond her professional achievements, Aisha continues to explore new frontiers beyond tech, embracing challenges and excelling in every endeavor she takes on. She holds an MSc in Data Science from the University of East London, further solidifying her expertise in technology and innovation.

Data Management Fieldwork Intern, Afrobarometer

Ama Nimako, from the GIZ Women’s cohort, is proving that equipping women with the right skills can be a game changer. After completing the Data Science GIZ Cohort 3, she has continued to expand her expertise and make a meaningful impact in the field of data science.

Currently, Ama works as a Data Management Fieldwork Intern at Afrobarometer, where she contributes to critical research and data-driven insights. Her passion for empowering women in tech is evident in her role as a Sponsorship Support Manager for Divas in AI, where she helps create opportunities for aspiring women in artificial intelligence.

Ama’s dedication to learning and growth recently earned her a spot at the Afrobarometer Data Analysis Summer School at the University of Cape Town in South Africa, further enhancing her skills and global exposure in data analysis.

Through her work, mentorship, and advocacy, Ama is inspiring more women to break barriers in data and AI, proving that with the right opportunities, women can lead and innovate in the tech industry.
